About the product

Rest easy with our Silky Bamboo Pillowcase, made from eco-friendly Bamboo Lyocell®. Its ultra-smooth texture reduces friction, preventing hair tangles, and protects your skin overnight. Naturally hypoallergenic, antibacterial, and odor-resistant, providing a gentle and restful sleep.

Unlike cotton, bamboo fibers are as smooth as silk (but cruelty-free!), promoting healthier hair and skin. Wake up with tangle-free hair and glowing skin—no more bedhead! Plus, bamboo’s temperature-regulating properties keep you cool and comfortable all night.

Available in 7 different sizes.

How it works

Our Silky Bamboo Pillowcase is made from 100% Bamboo Lyocell®, a sustainable fabric produced through an eco-friendly closed-loop process. This process recycles and reuses the solvent used to dissolve the bamboo pulp, reducing waste and making it much more sustainable than traditional fabric production. In fact, up to 99% of the solvent is captured and reused, minimizing the environmental impact compared to conventional viscose manufacturing.

Bamboo is a fast-growing, renewable resource. The plant, classified as grass, can grow up to 35 inches (around 90 cm) in just one day! To create the fabric, bamboo is crushed into pulp, and its natural fibers are then extracted and spun into yarn.

The Bamboo Lyocell® in our Hairlust Silky Bamboo Pillowcase meets the OEKO-TEX Standard 100, ensuring that every thread and component is free from harmful chemicals, making it both safe for you and the planet.

Note that the pillow is not included.

    Frequently asked questions

    • Can pillowcases be damaging to hair?

Yes! Traditional pillowcases are made of cotton or a mix of cotton and polyester. Even though these materials are cheap, they often have a rough surface that causes friction between the pillow and your hair and skin. This can leave your hair frizzy when you get up the next morning. Additionally, cotton can absorb a lot of moisture from your skin and hair while sleeping causing dryness.

Bamboo pillowcases are made of much smoother and softer material. Your hair and skin glide on top of the surface, which reduces friction and pulling. Bamboo doesn't absorb as much moisture either, so that your skin and hair maintain their natural moisture balance.

    • How should I take care of/wash it?

Washing machine: Our Bamboo Pillow Case is machine washable. Use a program suited for delicates at a maximum of 30°C with a mild detergent suited for delicates/silk. Do not use bleach. Do not tumble dry. Iron at low temperature.

Bamboo can’t be washed with regular detergent due to regular detergent containing enzymes that increases the effectiveness, but not caring about sensitive materials.

Bamboo is a sensitive and natural material which will contract slightly during wash. That can lead to small variations in the color.

Hand wash: If you wash by hand, rinse the fabric thoroughly and gently pat dry. Leave the fabric free to dry.

Stains: Don’t rub on stains as “dusty” areas might occur on the fabric. Oils and grease can often be hard to get rid of - in this case it’s better to send the fabric to a dry cleaner. Stains can be pretreated before washing with a little concentrated mild liquid detergent or dishwashing soap (uncolored). Wait around 10 minutes before washing off.

    • What size is it?

This bamboo pillow cover is available in four different sizes.

    • Should I choose a bamboo or silk pillowcase?

Silk pillowcases and bamboo pillowcases are both an excellent choice when it comes to beauty sleep. But since the production of silk kills silkworms, it is not an option for vegans or people worried about animal welfare.

Bamboo is often considered a sustainable material due to its relatively low environmental impact. As one of the fastest-growing plants, it can be harvested more quickly than many other resources.

We use bamboo instead of silk due to it being a vegan and sustainable option and having an amazingly sleek and smooth surface.
